Hi Y'all - was last week a doozy for you? It sure was for me - this week looks a little softer and I am learning a new (to me) deck in the process, The Tarot de Marseille (which is old, like 15th century old)! Let's dig in, shall we?
- The Star - My homegirl. The Star has always been my favorite card in the Tarot, initially because it featured a nekkid lady. The Star is a card of hope and truth - finding one's place in the world and acting in it while communicating with the cosmos. This card is about giving back to the Earth, using gifts of fertility and generosity. Seeing it here, I can't help but think of the water protectors at Standing Rock, the important work they are doing for us all and the incredible personal sacrifice they are undertaking. I believe that The Star has turned up here to nudge us to find our place in the world - and to remind us that we need to look after it.
- The Chariot - This card represents action in the world. This is a card which is moving forward towards success - a card of courage with conviction of being on the right path. I know from conversations among my peers that there has been a feeling of being called into action lately, so here you go. This is an especially auspicious card to see if you have BEEN THROUGH SOME SHIT - the survival of hardships and ability to turn misfortune into a workable, if not beneficial, situation is a seriously good skill to have. The Chariot also prompts questions about the methods one choses for acting in the world. It's never a bad idea to take a step back from things and evaluate the best course of action.
- Five of Pentacles - The pentacles are associated with abundance and the Five of Pentacles has turned up to signify an opening to a more spiritual place for us to explore. This could manifest itself with an emergence of environmentally friendly enterprises and also encourages us to go deeper with our self-care.
In a nutshell, we have hope. We are called to find our place in the world and to reciprocate care for it; a call to action with strength and perseverance; and an invitation to enrich our souls with deeper spiritual development and self-care. Let's do this shit!
