{ October 24 - A Day For Kids! }

We are celebrating the Day of the Dead a little early at Oracle this year - Saturday, October 24th, from 2:00-4:00 pm we invite you to bring your kids to celebrate with us! We will have Day of the Dead sugar skulls, stickers, temporary tattoos and Owl Pellets available for purchase!!

:: October 24 :: Kid's Workshop - 2:00-4:00pm - Investigate and find bones in owl pellets, sugar skull drawing and temporary tattoos! *more to come!

{ GONE FISHIN' }

Oracle will be closed on Tuesday, October 13th for a field trip to the KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum!! 

We are super excited for this excellent opportunity to learn more about ornithology and taxidermy and can't wait to implement our knowledge in the shop. That said, we are very sorry about the inconvenience and want you to know that the shop will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, October 14th. 

In the meantime, we are delighted to have been featured in the Kansas City Star's House and Home section this weekend, thank you Cynthia Billhartz Gregorian for the wonderful write up and to Joe Ledford for the beautiful photos of our personal collections!

We wanted to let you know that we are currently closed on Sundays - our hours of operation will change around the holiday season and we'll let you know as soon as they do!!

{ BUTTERFLIES 101 - THIS SATURDAY! }

BUTTERFLY FRAMING WORKSHOP - OCTOBER 10, 4-6PM & 17, 5-6PM

Our butterfly framing class is broken up into two dates, the first of which will introduce you to the basics of spreading and preserving your own butterfly specimen! We provide two butterflies, a lovely wooden frame with glass for presentation, as well as all of the tools required - just bring yourself! Professional instruction and hands-on demonstrations for re-hydrating, posing and preserving your butterfly will be provided during the first class installment. One week later, we meet again to learn framing and display techniques for your butterfly and you leave the class with a specimen that your spread, posed and framed yourself! 

The first class will meet at Oracle KC, Saturday October 10 from 4-6pm. Our second workshop installment will meet at the same location, Saturday October 17 from 5-6pm. Oracle KC is located in the Crossroads Art District, 130 West 18th Street, KCMO 64108.
