Proper dissection techniques are so important to the success of any project! Join us for a discussion and live demo about the different techniques of dissection that are crucial for your specific projects; Whether you are preparing for different preservation methods, such as wet preservation and diaphonization, or preparing for different types of skeletal articulation methods, this lecture and Q&A will set you forward for your future projects. We will show specific preparations methods alongside a live dissection walking through essential details and steps to get the best results for your future project.
Guest speaker, Guus Wellesen of Arctic Skeletons, is a staff engineer at the medical faculty at the NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, responsible for the anatomical collection consisting of both human and zoological specimens. With extensive experience from working for different museums and collections, Guus is an award winning skeletal articulator, winning World Taxidermy Championships (2011 & 2024) and is professionally trained in techniques of plastination, corrosion casting, and diaphonization.
