Here we go Y'all, are you ready? We have a lot going on this week - let's look at the cards and dig in:
- Seven of Swords - This card is all about being extremely receptive, intellectually speaking and invites us to meditate on the needs of the world. This is a nudge for us to act outside of our own selves and immediate needs and to become more giving towards our fellow man. On a more personal level, the Seven of swords is also about the importance of individuality, removing yourself from harmful influences, being self-aware and able to recognize patterns in your own behavior which are crippling. It's a call for a vision quest, to be a better person for your own damn self - as well as for the betterment of mankind. No big. (Jk jk jk jk jk - it is big).
- Two of Wands - This is a card of embryonic creativity, brimming with potential as you step out to begin your journey. You have plenty of resources to draw from and loads of self confidence - this card is the calm breath you take just before you take your first step onto a new path. Don't sweat it, you made a good, level decision to get here, don't hold yourself back.
- Nine of Cups - The flowers here are shown wilting, this is the end of their flowering and you must allow yourself a period of mourning. This card represents sacrifice and detachment as we accept the end of an emotional cycle and let go so that a new dimension of love can appear. That sounds like a heavy bummer, but this Nine is also a card of fulfillment - and to get there you must make room for your true hearts desire.
This week's reading was definitely a mix. The Seven of Swords felt like it was speaking to our community in a broad sense (particularly given the atrocities agains humanity in Aleppo and Yemen) calling for us to reach out to our fellow man on a global level. The other two cards really tucked into more individual-focused issues, which may have touched on some very personal concerns for some of you. As this is a general reading given for our community this week, I'd advise that all of us take some time to be self-reflective - to think about how we can take altruistic action in the world. If the Two of Wands and Nine of Cups are speaking to you specifically, you are in a good position to let go, to allow yourself closure and to move forward. No sweat, right?
