Holy Smokes you guys...this August it will be two years since we first opened our doors for business!! I swear it feels like it was just yesterday, but so much has happened in that window of time! We have changed locations, expanded our shop and we have added the one and only Bone Wizard to our partnership...and that's not even the half of it! We have held educational workshops for artists who love science and for scientists who love art; dedicated our back room for in-shop production of skeleton articulation, for preserving and framing insects, pop-up shops and art installations; we have hosted tarot and palmistry parties (during which we have laughed and cried but mostly laughed with y'all); we have been pushed creatively in ways we never thought possible and we have so much more planned!
We are so happy to be a part of the thriving (and, fortunately for us, very open-minded) community of West 18th Street and we sure wouldn't be here without our wonderful customers!! We like y'all, is our point, and we want to say thank you.
Traditionally, a person gives the gift of cotton to mark a two year anniversary...we like cotton just fine, but we can do a little better than that. For the month of August, by way of a thank you to our amazing customers, we are offering a 10% discount on purchases* over $100 and a 20% discount on purchases over $200!! (*Excludes certain items). { First Friday Art Walk and Block Party }
It's that time again - First Friday Art Walk is happening this Friday, June 5th and HOO BOY is it going to be a good one! Skeleton Key Tarot will be in the shop doing fabulous mini-readings from 6:00-9:00 pm and we will be burning the midnight oil with extended shop hours, refreshments and new treasure for all of you! Oh, and did we mention that Mildred's Coffeehouse is having their summer block party for the Crossroads on Friday?
Forget all of your preconceived notions about chains because this Friday things will be off them. IT'S ON, Y'ALL!!!

That was terrible. I apologize. I'm rusty - it's been a while since we've posted - but we have our reasons! We have been busy, Y'all, so busy acquiring more treasures for the shop! We went to the Gem And Mineral Show and picked up LOADS of new things: smoky quartz, phantom quartz, pyrite ammonites, trilobites, king fisher skeletons, duck skulls, shark teeth, bats, framed insects and more! Rita Brinkerhoff of Skeleton Key Tarot will be in the shop from 6-9 pm doing mini readings and our good neighbor Fraction Print Studio is debuting a new exhibition of assemblage works called Unnatural Selection! To indulge in the vernacular of today's youth, it's gonna be tight. Come say hi and have a refreshment with us!

We have some exciting, big news: Oracle - Fine Curiosities - is expanding and moving to a larger space!
The best part is, we are staying in our beloved Crossroads neighborhood - our future home is just across the street at 130 W. 18th Street (the corner shop next to YJ's Snack Bar)!
We are temporarily closed at this time, but working diligently to get our new space looking fancy for you. (See enclosed photos below - we are wearing respirators and climbing scary ladders and everything!)
In the interim, we will soon be launching an online store right here on this site (TBA) and you can ring Carrie (719.216.3071) if your taxidermy, skull and framed insect needs become too great to endure. After all, Valentine's Day approaches and nothing says, 'I LOVE YOU' like a jar of assorted teeth!
