{ First Friday Art Walk and Block Party }

June 4, 2015 Alessandra Dzuba

It's that time again - First Friday Art Walk is happening this Friday, June 5th and HOO BOY is it going to be a good one! Skeleton Key Tarot will be in the shop doing fabulous mini-readings from 6:00-9:00 pm and we will be burning the midnight oil with extended shop hours, refreshments and new treasure for all of you! Oh, and did we mention that Mildred's Coffeehouse is having their summer block party for the Crossroads on Friday?

Forget all of your preconceived notions about chains because this Friday things will be off them. IT'S ON, Y'ALL!!!

( Pssst - our good friend and neighbor, Fraction Gallery,  is exhibiting a new group show, Drawing Room featuring artists Teal Wilson, Mark Traughber, Mark Galloway and Jane Almirall - come see!)

{ SETTLE DOWN THERE GORGEOUS }

December 3, 2014 Alessandra Dzuba
Are you kidding me, Blue Morpho?

Are you kidding me, Blue Morpho?

Hey there! We are pretty excited about this month - as usual we are kicking off December with the First Friday Art Walk, during which time we will have Tarot and Palm Readings by Madison Joy! Fun City, Y'all. We also have a new shipment of beautiful specimens in the store and we will be framing them and placing them in glass domes (all done in shop!) this month!  And, just in time for the holidays, we are launching our Curio Of The Month Club and let me tell you, IT IS AWESOME. Come see us!

*So, about that stunning Blue Morpho...the iridescent, taffeta-like sheen on the butterfly's wings is achieved via structural coloration. The colors produced vary depending on your viewing angle and light wavelengths because the microscopic scales which cover the Morpho's wings reflect incident light at successive layers, like waves.  Pretty neato!

{ Gift Certificates }

November 19, 2014 Alessandra Dzuba

Holiday gift giving can be so stressful. Do you get your beloved a coyote pelt? Or a badger spine? Do you know a curiosity collector who would probably love a beautifully framed sunset moth, or would they maybe prefer a jar of bison teeth? We are happy to offer Oracle gift certificates to help you with this tricky conundrum!
